What is holistic counselling?

Holistic counselling offers a safe and secure space with a professionally trained counsellor working with you at your pace to explore and understand the pressures or changes you face. There are times when life's challenges derail us and finding the right help to bring mind, body and spirit back to wholeness is key to inner strength and balance. Holistic counselling is not just a talk therapy, it also offers the space to work at a deeper more self-connected level and many people gain great benefit from being able to openly and safely explore their inner landscape. Gaining a greater understanding, acceptance and self-awareness can often be the first steps towards making positive changes or experiencing your world in a better way. 

How can counselling help?

Talking openly in a safe, calm, non-judgemental environment; being truly heard with respect, counselling allows you to process your concerns more deeply, which can help guide you to explore and piece together your experiences, struggles and concerns towards a greater understanding.

What problems or issues can counselling help?

People come to counselling for several reasons such as: -

  • fear, anxiety, stress, panic, bereavement, 

  • depression, relationships problems, feeling stuck, not able to move forward 

  • low self-esteem, not coping, negative or self harming actions or thoughts, 

  • or seeking greater understanding and self-awareness,

What happens in a therapy session?

The 50 minute therapy session normally takes place weekly either on a one to one basis, or as couples’ therapy. You will not be asked lots of questions, but to get a view of your experiences we explore together your world, your life experiences and your feelings.  I work in the strictest confidence and within the ethical frameworks of my training and governing bodies.

How many sessions will I need?

Depending on the nature of your difficulty or concerns, you may only need a few sessions such as 6 or 8, or you may benefit from a longer agreed period of therapy or possibly an open-ended period, whichever is right for you, however, the therapy process is continually under review to access progress and agree the way forward. 

Cancellation Policy

Appointments are protected for you and regular attendance is important for positive progress.  However, if you are not able to attend your session, please give at least 24 hour notice as missed or late cancelled appointments may be charged at the full fee.

 


What is Reiki therapy?

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) helps to harmonize and balance the body, mind and spirit.
Reiki treatment is given whilst you are fully clothed, on a couch or seated. A treatment session lasts approximately 45 minutes. 
Light touch is used making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions.  Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience.
